Which Program is Right for You?

When facing a serious, advanced illness, your doctor may discuss various care options with you. Patients and their families often have a hard time understanding the differences between the programs. Accredited Hospices of America developed the following chart in order to provide an overview explaining the differences between each program.

We provide hospice care to patients with serious, advanced illnesses who are no longer continuing curative treatments. Palliative care is available to patients who suffer from a serious illness and need help managing symptoms, though they may also be pursuing treatments to cure their illness. Home health care gives patients specific, skilled care following a hospital stay, and is often an option for patients who are expected to recover from their ailment or injury.
